MACRO INTERNATIONAL INC. has an immediate opening for a Research Associate to assist with analytical studies on demographic and health issues in developing countries. The researcher will provide assistance to data analysis, systematic literature reviews, and writing publishable papers and multi-country reports. The researcher will also assist in providing training and technical assistance to collaborators from developing countries. The position is based in Calverton, Maryland, USA and the researcher will report to the Director of Research in the Demographic and Health Research Division of Macro.Qualifications:
- Minimum Masters degree, doctoral-level training preferred in a relevant social science or public health field (demography, behavioral sciences, epidemiology/biostatistics, international health)
- Familiarity with demographic, reproductive health, maternal and child health, and HIV/AIDS issues in developing countries
- Experience with analysis of large survey data, systematic reviews of literature, multivariate statistical methods, and major statistical software, such as STATA, SPSS, and SAS
- Excellent writing skills, demonstrated ability to prepare publishable-quality manuscripts, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment with people of diverse backgrounds
